MSGHL REGULAR SEASON TIE-BREAKERS

Teams are ranked on pointstreak with the following criteria

1. number of points earned in league play
2. number of wins in regular season play
3. head to head against tied teams
   
4. goal differential between tied teams

MSGHL STATE TOURNAMENT TIE-BREAKERS

1. Points acquired in head to head competition
2. Highest goal differential (goals for minus goals against) for all games played ( max surplus of 5 goals per game for calculation purposes).
3. Highest finishing order in the MSGHL regular season.

The State Tournament this year will be hosted by Colorado Select at the Edge Ice Arena and The Ice Ranch February 26 -28th.

The tournament will be a round robin format with a 4 game guarantee to each team.  The cost of the tournament will be $750 per team.The top 4 teams in each division will win a spot at the tournament. The exception to this rule is the U19AA division: The Colorado Select U16AA and the CSAHA U19 team have declared their teams as Tier II teams.  Because of this declaration, they will compete in a Tier II tournament at the end of the season and therefore will NOT be eligible for the MSGHL State Tournament. After those two teams are taken out of the standings, the top four teams will be eligible for the MSGHL State Tournament. In addition, the last couple of years, the winner of the U19 competitive division had the opportunity to play for a spot at the Rocky Mountain District Tier II tournament. That is NOT the case this year since there will be a Tier II play-off. If there are any questions about this, please contact Kathy Dreher at the above e-mail address or phone.

With only a couple weekends of games left in the season, please be sure all games are verified in pointstreak and submitted correctly.  Pending games can hold up finalizing play-off spots.

Players must have played in 50% of the teams’ league games in order to qualify to play in the state tournament.Hotel information will be sent for the tournament weekend.

There are several things that each team must do before the start of the season.

USA HOCKEY ROSTER

Simply scan the signed USA Hockey Roster and send it to us as a .jpg or .pdf file
