The MSGHL Tier II U16 team is doing well at the National Tournament.

They have won their first three games in the preliminary round and are seeded 2nd coming into the quarterfinals. The top three scorers for the U16 division of the tournament are MSGHL players - Abigail Whiting, Megan Stabile and Marissa Lambert. The remaining games can be watched on the internet at http://www.fasthockey.com  for anyone interested. There is a charge to view the games. The team plays on Saturday 4/2 at 12 noon California time or 1pm Colorado time.

If they can win that game, the semi-finals are Saturday evening. They would play at 7pm California time, 8pm Colorado time.

Finals are Sunday April 3rd at 10am California time, 11am Colorado time. GOOD LUCK GIRLS!!!!!

Congratulations to all of the MSGHL teams who qualified for play-offs.

In preparation for play-offs, some important information about your team needs to be submitted to the tournament director as soon as possible:

• Your association logo
• Tournament roster of only the girls who qualify to play in the tournament and will attend
• T-shirt sizes (youth large, adult S, M L or XL) for all players and coaches
• Manager contact information - e-mail address, home and cell phone numbers. 

Below are several informational items. Please make sure all coaches review the tournament rules which are part of the tournament handbook. Managers need to make certain they have all of the credentials as listed in the tournament handbook.

Hotel information in the area of the Edge is attached. Teams are not required to use these hotels. All team members and coaches attending the play-offs will receive a short sleeve tournament t-shirt. Any additional apparel can be ordered directly from CHE with the attached order form . All tournament logo items must be pre-ordered. This form can be e-mailed or mailed with a check directly to CHE. Please make sure to distribute to the team as soon as possible. Deadline for orders is Thursday Feb. 24 at 9:00am. 

A final schedule will be posted on the MSGHL website this weekend. Please make sure to check this FINAL schedule for any slight time changes. 

The MSGHL play-offs will be held February 25-27 at the Edge Ice Arena. The format will be a little different this year and is outlined below.

Since no organization bid for hosting the tournament, the MSGHL will host the tournament. Each team will need to provide a penalty box person for each game, the MSGHL will be providing a clock operator and scorekeeper for every game.

There will be 6 divisions in the play-offs this year.  This is being done to allow more teams to participate in the playoffs.

• The U12 division will be the top 4 teams in the standings after all league play is completed.
• The U14AA division will be the top 4 teams in the standings and the U14A division will be the 5th thru 8th place teams.
• The U16 division will be the top 4 teams.
• The U19AA division will be the top 4 teams in the standings and the U19A division will be the 5th thru 8th place teams.

All seeds will be determined after the final league games on Feb. 13th. Please contact Kathy Dreher if you have any comments, questions, etc.

This years’ league tournament costs will be $850 per team.
